DreamBits™ are professionally designed color icon sets (ICN#, ics#, icl8, icl4, ics8, & ics4) for popular Macintosh programs. They will make the Apple Finder much more pleasant to look at on a color Macintosh running Apple’s System 7 or later. They do not work with Systems earlier than System 7.
Please, Please, Please do not remove any of the icons from the set. You may use them as a complete set free of charge and distribute them to anyone as long as you only distribute the complete original Stuffit archive intact. These icons may not be sold or bundled with anything whatsoever without prior written consent from DreamLight® Incorporated. (Just ask, we’ll probably let you bundle them with “real” software as long as full credit is given) These icons are not being placed in the public domain and DreamLight Incorporated retains all rights to the custom designed icons.
Some of the original B&W icons are contained within this file because we need to use the masks to remain compatible with the original programs icons. Wherever original program icons are included they are copyrighted by the original software company and may not be used for any purpose other than with their original programs.
To use these DreamBits™ simply copy the file into the same folder as the original program they are intended to colorize. Then restart your computer and hold down the Option and Command keys as the finder loads. You will be asked if you want to rebuild your desktop files. Answer yes. (This will erase any finder comments though). Continue rebuilding all desktops on all connected hard disks. That’s all there is to it.
